Samantha’s debut novel Bound is out now!

My mother’s first memory was more rooted in emotion than in any particular event. If she had to describe it, it would be the colour of blood.
Bound is a multigenerational family saga which takes place over a century and across four countries. In 1920s China, a law is changed to forbid the binding of feet. Huan-Ju, a four year old girl who has started the process, has her feet unbound leading her to question tradition and the role it plays in our lives.
“Beautifully written and utterly absorbing, Bound is a stunning debut – and Samantha W. L. Lee is an extraordinary talent.” – Kathryn Heyman
“Lee’s prose is marked by melodic language and a strong sense of place” - Emma Pei Yin
